Determination of pH of the given solution using pH meter

0

To determine the pH of the given solution using pH meter

PROCEDURE :

The pH meter was switched on and left for 10 minutes for warming and stabilization. Double distilled water is taken in a beaker and the electrode of the instrument was dipped into the water. The pH was adjusted to 'zero'.

The series of buffers of standard solution of different pH (6,7,8,9,10) are recorded. After reading the pH of each standard buffer, the electrode was dipped into the double distilled water and checcked. The electrode was wiped with cotton or tissus paper. Finally (after measuring the pH of standard), the electrode was dipped into the given unknown solution and the pH was noted.

RESULT :

The pH of the given unknown solution is 6.8.
